while playing the piano today,

i was sight reading a Nocturne by Chopin.

as i read i hit a low, low A.

after i hit it, i stopped and thought

"how did i know that note was an A?"

really, i'm not sure how i knew it--i just did.

but i know it wasn't because of me.

so thank you, Sister Shawcroft, for sticking with me

and believing in me even when i didn't practice well.

bet you didn't know...

...that i used to go to shows every week.
with people that you don't know.
to see bands you've never heard of.

i had my indie friends.
i loved my indie music.
i miss the shows.
{they don't have many here}


and i miss my jedi braid.
