the title of this post, stolen from a friend who just passed the bar {congratulations Ali!}, has been on my mind lately. i have a whole lot of things to blog about-- i'm just not sure how "blogable" they are.
sometimes friends drive me crazy but i certainly can't vent about them here.
i wish i could put my dreams and aspirations into words but they never come out right.
posting about my church calling would be out of the question
posting about my church calling would be out of the question
and i'm not going to reveal all of my imperfections to the three of you who read this.
so, would i like to blog more?
yes.
can i blog about the personal things that really bother me or are pressing on my mind?
no.
so where is the line of "blogability"?
you tell me.
I use my blog as a journal. If people find it boring they do not have to read it. I do not vent about friends that are bugging me. I do post about church callings maybe I shouldn't. In the end blogability is up to you.
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge part of why my blog is private. I obviously don't vent about invited friends there, but I feel I can write certain things there that I don't have to worry about certain uninvited people reading.
I think you could write about your calling.
I definitely write about my imperfections--but not all of them! It is scary to do, for sure, but I think it makes me more relatable to readers. I don't know.
And I'd love to hear about your dreams and aspirations.
For me, blogging is therapeutic, so I write until it makes me feel better. I'd say not even 20% of my posts actually get published on my blog, but the process of writing them out helps me emotionally. Try it! You can always wait a few days and see if you really feel like posting or not!
As the 3rd person who reads your blog, I'm telling you that whatever you write on your blog is blogable because it's your blog. My blog is a sort of edited version of my journal . . . I don't write in an actual journal, so when I write something that I decide is over the www line, I send it into another file to be read only by me so that it's still recorded, but not shared. For instance, I drew the line at showing my unedited photos of the homebirth of my son. You're welcome.
