Here in the 949...

Tree lighting at Fashion Island, Newport Beach
In the words of the Carpenter's,

"The sun is shining; the grass grass is green,

thr orange and palm trees sway.

There's never been such a day in Beverly Hills, L.A.

But it's December the 24th (or 5th)

and I'm longing to be up north..."

I have two conflicting worlds when it comes to Christmas: Orange County and Utah County.

Don't get me wrong, I love the weather here in the great OC.
We have lots of sunshine and warm days, even in the "winter".
However, when it's getting closer to Christmas I find it hard to get in the spirit.

I decorate our apartment (with the little decorations we have),
turn on Christmas music,
and burn a pine tree scented candle.
But nothing seems quite right.

This is the one (and only) time of year I really get home sick for the cold, frosty days of Utah.
There is something about the cold that makes it more like Christmas.

For now I guess I'll just have to endure the 70 degree weather
until we come home.

December 22nd here we come!
